Dear Montana Students and Families,
As you gather in communities across our state this week to celebrate School Choice Week, I want to thank you for your commitment to ensuring that every Montana student has the opportunity to receive the individualized education that they deserve. As Montana’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, it is my job to uphold Montana’s constitutional goal of ensuring that every student has the opportunity to develop their full educational potential.
As parents, we know that no two students learn the same. Their individual goals, learning styles, and ambitions require an education that fits their unique needs. I am proud of Montana’s public education system and the steps that we have taken towards individualized learning. I am also proud of the partnerships that the Office of Public Instruction has developed with private education and alternative education institutions, along with Montana businesses and industries.
We often see students flow between private, homeschool, alternative, and public learning environments. We must all work together to ensure that no matter how or where learning occurs, that it is done in the best interest of developing the full educational potential of the student.
You have my commitment that I will continue putting Montana students first and working to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Sincerely,
Elsie Arntzen
Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction
