Superintendent Arntzen Recognizes 2018 Teacher of the Year
HELENA—Superintendent Arntzen congratulated Four Georgians Elementary teacher Melissa Romano on being named the 2018 Montana Teacher of the Year by the Montana Professional Teaching Foundation. Superintendent Arntzen and Deputy Superintendent Tim Tharp visited Four Georgians Elementary in Helena to thank her for her service and congratulate her for this recognition. Superintendent Arntzen also spoke on the phone with Judith Boyle of Divide Elementary and Judy Vincent of Shields Valley Elementary to congratulate them on being named the runner ups for the 2018 Teacher of the Year award.
"I look forward to honoring my commitment to endorse the Montana Professional Teaching Foundation's 2018 Teacher of the Year. Melissa is a great educator and I thank her for her service to Montana students. I look forward to further elevating teacher excellence as the OPI begins administering the Teacher of the Year program moving forward," Arntzen said Tuesday.
The OPI will lead the Montana Teacher of the Year Program beginning with the 2019 Teacher of the Year. The Montana Teacher of the Year Program is part of the National Teacher of the Year Program which is administered by the State Superintendent's national organization, the Council of Chief State School Officers.
