Governor Steve Bullock today announced the following appointments.

Governor’s Commission on Community Service

  • Chantel Schieffer, Bozeman.  Qualification:  Representative of a community-based organization.  Schieffer is the Executive Director of Leadership Montana.

Mental Disabilities Board of Visitors

  • Jim Hajny, Livingston.  Qualification:  Consumer or family member of a consumer of mental health services.  Hajny is the Executive Director of Montana’s Peer Network.
  • Miriam Hertz, Seeley Lake.  Qualification:  Consumer or family member of a consumer with developmental disabilities.  Hertz is an active advocate and currently a Peer Reviewer for the Disability Studies Quarterly and Chair of the Alpine Artisans Youth Arts Scholarship Committee.
  • Tracy Perez, Ronan.  Qualification:  Professional person in the field of mental health treatment.  Perez is a Mental Health Therapist for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Behavioral Health Program.

Board of Plumbers

  • Steve Henry, Laurel.  Qualification:  Representative of the public who is not engaged in the business of installing or selling plumbing equipment.  Henry is retired after a career in education and advocacy.

Board of Research and Commercialization Technology

  • Dave Opitz, Missoula.  Qualification:  Public member.  Opitz is a successful entrepreneur who sold his Missoula based company and works with the Montana Angel Network to fund and promote new business innovation in the Missoula area.

Montana State Workforce Innovation Board

  • Rich Aarstad, Helena.  Qualification:  Workforce representative.  Aarstad is a member of MEA-MFT and works at the Montana Historical Society.
  • Anna Doran, Helena.  Qualification:  Business representative.  Doran is the owner of Big Dipper Ice Cream in Helena.
  • Miles McCarvel, Missoula.  Qualification:  Workforce representative, apprenticeship program.  McCarvel is the Business Agent for the Iron Workers Local #4.

Committee on Telecommunications Access Services for Persons with Disabilities

  • Marilynn Daumiller, Helena.  Qualification:  Non-disabled senior citizen.  Daumiller is retired and currently serves as a consultant for the Casey Family Programs related to child welfare.
  • Charlotte Harasymczuk, Billings.  Qualification:  Person with disabilities, deaf or hard-of-hearing.  Harasymczuk is an advocate and is a board member for the Montana Association of the Deaf.
  • Tyler Peart, Missoula.  Qualification:  Largest service provider in Montana.  Peart is with Verizon Wireless.
  • Julia Saylor, Helena.  Qualification:  Person with disabilities, deaf or hard-of hearing.  Saylor is retired after a career in education.
