Governor Steve Bullock today issued the following statement in support of workers with Local D-239 for their successful end to the lockout.
“I’m pleased the company and the workers were able to come together and find a solution. Montanans all across the state can be proud of these workers for their unwavering commitment and for showing that the rights of workers are always worth fighting for. The workers with Local D-239 fought a long, hard path – with tremendous sacrifices made along the way – but it’s one that echoes loud and clear that when we stand united, the hardworking folks of our state will prevail, now and in future generations.”
Both Governor Bullock and Lt. Governor Cooney visited Three Forks multiple times throughout the lockout to meet with the workers on the picket line. In August, Governor Bullock sent a letter to Imerys Talc North America’s General Manager urging a return to the negotiating table and a fair shake for the boilermakers.
