Governor Bullock Hosts 2nd Workshop on National Governors Association Chair’s Initiative

State teams convene in Las Vegas to guide nation’s governors towards ‘Good Jobs for All Americans’

Governor Steve Bullock this week is hosting the second of three regional leadership workshops on his National Governors Association chair’s initiative, Good Jobs for All Americans, that will offer a comprehensive approach to guide the nation’s governors towards a more advanced and productive workforce.

“The future of our workforce and how we go about ensuring that all Americans have opportunities to expand their upward mobility isn’t just an issue facing our largest cities or most rural communities. It’s one that crosses both geographical and political boundaries — and one that requires a bipartisan approach to solutions,” said Governor Bullock. “I look forward to continued work together with the nation’s governors to ensure that all Americans have a fair shot at a better life, no matter where they live.”

The second regional leadership workshop is being held today and tomorrow in Las Vegas, Nevada with Governor Bullock, governor designees, and state teams representing 25 states across the country.

Governor Bullock will be providing an overview of his Good Jobs for All Americans framework and participating in an armchair chat on how his chair’s initiative can provide new tools and resources for governors to create good jobs for all Americans. The event also includes workshops on the initiative’s three priority areas: creating the workforce of the future, reskilling mid-career workers, and empowering the rural workforce.

The first regional leadership workshop was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in September. Governor Bullock will host the final leadership workshop in Des Moines, Iowa in March. In May, Governor Bullock will welcome state teams and experts to the Good Jobs for All Americans Solutions Summit in Whitefish, Montana to share specific actions governors can take to forge pathways for current, future, and underemployed workers.
