Helena, Mont.— Commissioner Mangan is extending deadlines for campaign finance reports for candidates and committees who are impacted by this weekend’s winter storm.
The Commissioner has been notified that Pondera County, Teton County, and the Blackfeet Nation are experiencing issues with internet service. Without internet, candidates and committees will be unable to file campaign finance reports in the digital Campaign Electronic Reporting System (CERS). Mail and phone service may also be affected, limiting the ability for candidates and committees to report on schedule.
For candidates and committees impacted by the winter storm emergency, campaign finance report deadlines are extended through this Friday, October 4, at 5:00 p.m.
For city candidates and committees who are not impacted, city candidates who did not advance from the primary election have a report due September 30. All city candidates who advanced to the general election have a report due on October 1. City committees have a C-6 or C-4 report due on September 30.
The mission of the Commissioner of Political Practices is to promote confidence, transparency, and accountability in Montana’s democratic processes. Additional information about campaign finance disclosure requirements are available on the Commissioner of Political Practices’ website.
