The Office of Public Instruction is Continuing the Promise of Responding and Supporting our Montana Schools

February 12, 2021

HELENA – Today the Governor's Office issued an Executive Order outlining Montana's directives for its response to COVID-19 in maintaining health and safety for all Montanans. “Access to school is essential to the developmental, social, mental, and educational needs of school-age children. Schools should make reasonable efforts to follow school guidelines and best practices recommended by the CDC and the Montana Office of Public Instruction,” said Governor Gianforte.

Elsie Arntzen, Superintendent of Public Instruction: “I am pleased Governor Gianforte is moving forward with local control for Montana’s locally elected school trustees who are ensuring and enhancing learning opportunities for students in their communities.  The OPI is continuing the promise of responding and supporting our Montana schools in these still uncertain times.”
