Superintendent Elsie Arntzen Encourages All Teachers to Participate in the STEM Summer Institute
HELENA – Superintendent Elsie Arntzen is encouraging all K-12 educators to participate in Montana State University’s (MSU) STEM Summer Institute on July 25-27, 2022. This Institute is focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) educators and administrators in public and private schools, afterschool programs, and homeschools. Educators will learn new tools and techniques for teaching STEM to our students.
“Preparing our Montana students to be career-ready is an important part of growing our state’s future,” said Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. “This is why my Montana Ready initiative focuses on STEM education. The STEM Summer Institute is a great opportunity for all of our Montana educators to grow their skills and knowledge in STEM education.”
The STEM Institute will feature sessions on:
- Anatomy
- Engineering
- Arduino Coding
- NASA
- Indian Education for All
- Math
- Energy
- Earth Science
The keynote speaker is MSU Ph.D. candidate Madie Willis, who will share about her NASA spaceflight simulation project. Educators can earn up to 16 professional development units from the Office of Public Instruction. The cost of the Institute is $205 which includes meals. Housing is available on the MSU campus.
