Superintendent Elsie Arntzen Congratulates Two Schools Nominated for the National Blue Ribbon Schools
HELENA – State Superintendent Elsie Arntzen has nominated two Montana public schools to begin the process to receive the annual National Blue Ribbon Schools award from the U.S. Department of Education. The schools must show achievement in two categories: Exemplary High-Performing Schools and Exemplary Achievement Gap-Closing Schools.
The following Montana schools have been nominated for 2022:
- Belt Elementary (Cascade County)
- Monforton Elementary (Gallatin County)
“This is a highly prestigious recognition that only a few Montana schools earn each year,” said Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. “This designation showcases Montana’s parents, students, and teachers’ commitment to student learning success even in these uncertain times. I pledge my support to aid these schools during the nomination process. They make Montana proud!”
This is the 39th year that the National Blue Ribbons Schools Program has presented awards to over 9,000 schools across our nation and 45 Montana schools. The two Montana schools in 2021 that received this honor were Cascade Elementary in Cascade and Ridge View Elementary School in Belgrade. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private schools, including elementary, middle, and high schools. The award is based on overall academic excellence and efforts to achieve high levels of student success.
