Superintendent Arntzen Seeks Feedback on Economic Impact Statement for Mathematics State Content Standards Revisions
HELENA – Superintendent Arntzen is asking parents, families, teachers, school leaders, and community members to fill out an economic impact survey for the proposed revisions to the Montana Mathematics State Content Standards. These teaching and learning standards will provide a framework for how mathematics is taught in our public schools.
“Our Mathematics Content Standards are over ten years old,” said Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. “The proposed revisions prioritize simplicity, practicality, and clarity in teaching and learning Math. I welcome all parents, educators, school leaders, and community members to let their voice be heard on the use of our taxpayer dollars in these revisions.”
The Mathematics Negotiated Rulemaking Committee met from October 2023 through January 2024 to review and revise the Mathematical State Content Standards housed in Administrative Rule of Montana (ARM),10.53.5.
This survey will be used to develop an economic impact statement as required per §2-4-405, MCA during the rulemaking process. The statements will determine if there are any substantial cost implications associated with the proposed rule changes. The Education Interim Committee will receive and review these impact statements.
