Superintendent Arntzen Seeks Feedback for Two Economic Impact Statements
HELENA - Superintendent Elsie Arntzen is encouraging all Montanans to complete an economic impact survey for feedback on revisions to two sets of teaching and learning standards:
Assessment Standards:
World Languages Content Standards:
“I am grateful for the work that both the Assessment and World Languages Negotiated Rulemaking Committees have done,” said Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. “The revisions to the Assessment Standards focus on the implementation of the new MAST through-year testlet program, which links teaching to learning. Our Montana World Languages Standards have not been revised for 25 years. The economic impact statements will reflect the use of precious taxpayer dollars.”
The Assessment Negotiated Rulemaking Committee (NRC) met in February to review proposed amendments to the Title 10, Chapter 56, Subchapter 1, Assessment Standards. The World Languages Content Standards Revisions Negotiated Rulemaking Committee (NRC) met throughout the fall and into December to review the Administrative Rule of Montana (ARM), Title 10, Chapter 54, Subchapters 85 & 86.
These surveys will be used to develop economic impact statements as required per §2-4-405, MCA during the rulemaking process. The statements will determine if there are any substantial cost implications associated with the proposed rule changes. The Education Interim Committee will receive and review these impact statements.
