HELENA – Superintendent Arntzen has sent the federally mandated Report Card for accountability as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) to Montana schools. This data is embargoed for one week to allow schools the opportunity to review and clarify their data before the public release on April 4, 2024. The state report card holds data from the previous 2022-2023 school year and will be displayed in an accessible digital report card. There is an individual report card for each of Montana’s 826 schools plus a report card for our 401 school districts.
“This is a transparent tool for parents, families, and community members to measure student success in our schools,” said Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. “The report card reflects both state and federal data requirements. Our OPI experts are standing by to help our schools with any questions they have about the embargoed report card data.”
Each report card shows data on:
The federal requirement for school accountability is designated on the Report Card as Comprehensive, Targeted, or Universal. The accountability system uses multiple measures of school success, including academic outcomes, student progress, and school quality, while emphasizing that all students deserve a high-quality and well-rounded education that will prepare them for success.
