Superintendent Arntzen Recognizes Montana Learning Center for 40 Years of Service
HELENA – Superintendent Arntzen applauds the Montana Learning Center’s [vmm0dj30.r.us-west-2.awstrack.me] (MLC) 40 years of service to Montana students and teachers. Established in 1984, the MLC has served hundreds of students yearly for full-day and overnight educational STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) summer camps. Students from all over Montana participate in hands-on learning experiences that include digging for dinosaur bones, astronomy, and wildlife science. MLC also offers in-person and virtual training workshops to about 100 teachers every year.
“Math and science are the foundations of student success,” said Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. “The Montana Learning Center emphasizes the importance of linking learning with real-world experience. I appreciate the learning center’s dedication to educational excellence.”
“We are incredibly grateful to be in a position to inspire tomorrow’s workforce by providing unforgettable learning experiences to Montana’s students and teachers alike” said Ryan Hannahoe, Executive Director of the MLC.

Many students who attend MLC go on to pursue STEM-related careers. MLC is an active member of the Montana Space Grant Consortium, Montana's collegiate branch of NASA, and is one of two NASA Partners in Montana as a part of a NASA Science Activation grant. The largest astronomical facility in Montana is located at MLC and offers a public stargazing [vmm0dj30.r.us-west-2.awstrack.me] series during the summer months.
