HELENA – Superintendent Elsie Arntzen is hosting a Celebration of parents on January 2, 2023, in the Montana State Capitol Rotunda at 11:00 AM. The theme of the celebration is Parents as Our First Teachers and will feature parent guest speakers from around the state.

“The parent voice is part of the support for the best public education system,” said Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. “Education is a generational discussion with parents and grandparents. Join me in actively listening in partnership with legislators and school leaders as this 68th legislative session unfolds.”

Guest speakers include:

  • Alba Pimentel from Moms for Liberty
  • James and Jana Pennington from Billings
  • Duane and Elizabeth Barton from Three Forks
  • Kendra Espinoza from Kalispell

This celebration is a continuation of the Bridging the Communication Between Schools and Families events Superintendent Arntzen is hosting around the state. More regional events around Montana will be announced in January.

A swearing ceremony for all legislators will take place at noon in the respective chambers.
