HELENA – Superintendent Arntzen will celebrate National School Breakfast Week from March 4-8, 2024. School Breakfast Week highlights the importance of the federal School Breakfast Programs and celebrates the positive impact it has on students' lives. Montana schools served 6,128,427 breakfasts in the 2022-23 school year.
“The School Breakfast Program serves over 35,000 children every day in our Montana schools,” said Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. “A big thank you to all school nutrition specialists who work to feed our children. Join me in celebrating School Breakfast Week and all those dedicated to making this program possible.”
This year’s theme of "Surf's Up with School Breakfast” shows students that a healthy breakfast can set the stage for a successful day of learning through tropical flavors, foods, and beaches as students gear up for spring break. Surf’s Up with School Breakfast raises awareness about healthy breakfasts served at school, increases student participation, and offers a platform for schools to share successful implementation strategies.
