Superintendent Arntzen Celebrates Family & Consumer Sciences Educator Day
HELENA – Superintendent Arntzen will honor Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) students and teachers on February 14, 2024, National Family & Consumer Sciences Educator Day. National FCS Educator Day celebrates the positive impact that FCS teachers have on students, families, and communities through a focus on personal and family finance, working to prevent bullying in schools, and training the next generation of culinary and early childhood professionals.
“Family and consumer science education prepares our students for life after graduation,” said Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. “This reflects my Montana Ready initiative, which focuses on career and college readiness. I appreciate the emphasis that family and consumer science teachers place on personal finances and career preparation for our Montana students.”
More than 14,400 Montana students benefit from FCS education by developing knowledge and skills in:
- personal development and career preparation
- nutrition and wellness
- healthy food preparation
- child and family development
