Helena, MT –Superintendent of Public Instruction Susie Hedalen announced today that the state’s preliminary federal education funding allocations for IDEA and Title I part A Fiscal Year 2025 have been received, at levels similar to last year. These funds will be allocated as planned and disbursed on July 1, 2025, ensuring continued support for Montana’s students, teachers, and schools.
“This is great news for Montana’s education system,” said Superintendent Hedalen. “Our schools can count on receiving their IDEA and Title I part A funding on time, allowing them to continue delivering high-quality instruction and resources for students across the state. I appreciate our partners at the U.S. Department of Education for their open communication with OPI and I will continue sharing federal updates with Montana’s school districts as I receive them.”
The Office of Public Instruction (OPI) remains committed to overseeing the effective distribution of these funds and supporting local school districts and cooperatives in their planning and implementation. Further details regarding funding allocations will be shared in detail with stakeholders in the coming weeks.
OPI staff are reviewing these allocations and will provide updates as necessary to ensure transparency and preparedness across Montana’s education system.
