Dear OPI School Nutrition Unit:

As the Awards Chair for the Montana School Nutrition Association I am pleased to inform you one of your Team Nutrition Staff Members was nominated for a state award. Our goal is to recognize and offer support to state nominees and award winners. As such, we are hopeful you would be willing to read the following narrative to your cohort at your next meeting. School nutrition teams are successful due to your support, thank you for the leadership and encouragement you lend to school nutrition!

Narrative:

The importance and nutritional value of school meals are well documented. For many children, school lunch is the most important and nutrient-rich meal of their day. Between preparing healthy food, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, school nutrition professionals have a lot on their plate. We applaud and stand behind the efforts of your staff members with this tumultuous task. Thank you in advance for the opportunity to recognize the following Team Nutrition Staff Member at your cohort meeting:

The Montana School Nutrition Association is pleased to announce Katie Bark, MSU Montana Team Nutrition, was chosen for the Professional of the Year Award for outstanding service to Montana students.

Katie Bark was nominated by Tammy Wham, MT SNA member and Kitchen Manager at Ennis School.

Tammy writes:

Dear Award Committee:

I would like to nominate Katie Bark for the Professional of the Year award. Katie has always been a phone call or email away to help with any problem or question.  Katie works endlessly to promote a healthy lifestyle both physically and mentally.  I do not think I would have the program or be the success I am today without the help and support of Katie and Team Nutrition. I am honored to nominate Katie Bark for Professional of the Year.

Tammy Wham

Katie will receive a MTSNA Certificate of Appreciation, a personalized apron and a crystal vase for her efforts. Thank you again for the opportunity to share these awards with your cohort! Stay safe, stay healthy and have a great 2020-2021 school year!

Sincerely,

Patrice O’Loughlin
