(HELENA)--- The Montana State Library Commission will meet online on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend.  For an agenda, meeting materials, and information about how to join the online meeting, visit:  https://mslservices.mt.gov/ASPeN/Events/Event_Detail?Committee_ID=1.  

The Montana State Library Commission meets six times per year. Commissioners include Chair Bruce Newell of Helena, Vice-chair Kenning Arlitsch, appointee of the Commissioner of Higher Education, Elsie Arntzen, Superintendent of Public Instruction, Connie Behe of Kalispell, Jamie Doggett of White Sulphur Springs, Dalton Johnson of Missoula, and Ken Wall of Missoula.

At this meeting, the Commission will consider a resolution honoring Dr. Catherine Maynard, a trust request, revisions to the public library standards, 2021 meeting dates and a date in December to consider the Montana Land Information Plan and the Montana Land Information Act 2021 Biennium Legislative Report.  They will also receive updates and reports on Legislative planning and proposed changes to the Excellent Library Services Award criteria.  The Commission will discuss the Montana Library Network and the Goals for the State Librarian and Commission, as well.

Members of the public who wish to share written comment or pertinent visual materials to the Commission must submit written public comment to the State Librarian, Jennie Stapp, no later than 24 hours before the start of the public meeting.
