(HELENA) - On Monday, April 21st, the Montana Natural Heritage Program released a new website with mobile friendly features and a welcoming layout to make finding information as easy as possible. The new Dashboards and Tools page presents a variety of data for native and non-native species and habitats. Keep an eye on this page in the coming weeks as planned additions include a Montana Beaver Restoration Hub and a Montana Invasive Species Watchlist.

Other features that users will find helpful are tools for submitting plant and animal data to the Montana Natural Heritage Program data system and access to the new Montana Native Plant Conservation Strategy.

Check out the new website at: https://mtnhp.mt.gov

*Please note, this is a different web address than before. Please be sure to update your bookmarks and refresh your browsers as needed.

If you are unfamiliar with the Montana Natural Heritage Program, we encourage you to spend some time reviewing their website. The program was established in 1983 to provide reliable and objective information about the plants, species, and habitats native to Montana and is a program of the Montana State Library. The MNHP staff include zoologists, ecologists, and botanists who are passionate about studying the natural wonders of our state and sharing the knowledge they have with all Montanans. The State Library is pleased to have this group of experts in our organization and to provide the information they collect with the public.

The Montana State Library helps all organizations, communities, and Montanans thrive through excellent library resources and services.
