Montana Geospatial Information Advisory Council to Meet
The Montana Geospatial Information Advisory Council (MGIAC) will meet on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Large Community Room at the Lewis and Clark County Library at 120 S Last Chance Gulch, Helena, MT 59601 and on Zoom.

The Council will discuss the Internal Review of the MGIA Grant Program Final Report, MGIA Grant Priorities for FY27-28, FY2027 Budget, reports by each of the council members, and the GIS Coordinator’s report.

The Montana Geospatial Information Advisory Council was established by statute through the Montana Geospatial Information Act with the purpose of advising the state library on geospatial information systems, geographic information and geospatial technologies; prioritization of geospatial information development priorities, reviewing the geospatial information plan, provide recommendations for a geospatial information granting process; promote coordination of programs, policies, technologies and resources; advocate for development of consistent polices, standards and guidelines for geographic information systems, geospatial information, and geospatial technologies.. Members of the Council represent state agencies, county or municipal governments, federal government, private business, tribal government interests, Montana university system, Montana association of GIS Professionals, and Montana association of registered land surveyors.
