Montana Historical Society Gift Shop Now Open Online
Helena, MT — The Montana Historical Society’s Gift Shop at the Montana Heritage Center has launched a newly redesigned online store at shopmths.mt.gov, making its thoughtfully curated selection of Montana books, gifts, and locally made goods available to shoppers anywhere in the country.
The online store features a wide collection of books celebrating Montana's history, culture, and landscapes, alongside apparel, home goods, and handcrafted items from Montana and Indigenous makers. A modernized platform with intuitive navigation and searchable tools makes it easy for customers to browse the full inventory and purchase titles or gifts from home.
"The Gift Shop has always been a place where people can take a piece of Montana's story home with them,” said Aly Arnold, store manager. “Now, whether you're a Montana local, a visitor, or someone who has never set foot in the state but loves what Montana represents, you can find something meaningful here — and know that what you're buying reflects the people and places that make our state extraordinary."
The store was formerly known as the Museum Store and was renamed The Gift Shop when the Montana Heritage Center opened its doors to the public in December 2025. Located in the Heritage Center's Central Commons, the physical store offers a larger selection of goods than its predecessor thanks to its expanded footprint. The new online platform extends that experience to customers who cannot visit in person, with new inventory added on a regular basis.
Visitors can view the new store’s offerings and shop online at shopmths.mt.gov. For questions or more information, contact The Gift Shop at thegiftshop@mt.govor
