The Montana Legislature’s Environmental Quality Council (EQC) wraps up its interim in September with a two-day Zoom meeting, starting at 10 a.m. September 9.

During the meeting, the EQC will finalize reports for its major studies (chronic wasting disease, wildlife location data, wilderness study areas, and bonding, decommissioning, and remediation of energy facilities) and review legislative proposals and reports from FWP, DEQ, and DNRC. Topics include opencut mining, aquatic invasive species, wolf management, mountain sheep, sage grouse, grizzly bears, wildlife habitat, repairs on the St. Mary Canal, and updates on the 2020 fire season and the state's water supply.

The EQC will also review legislative proposals from the Private Lands/Public Wildlife Council and consider potential committee legislation on wildlife location data, trapper education, and ballast boat decontamination.

The meeting is live streamed at http://leg.mt.gov and broadcast on the Montana Public Affairs Network (MPAN). Check local channel listings to find MPAN.
