HELENA, Mont. – Governor Greg Gianforte yesterday urged President Biden to increase vaccine production and send more doses to Montana.

“Given Montana’s success in quickly and effectively administering doses received, I ask your administration to do everything in its power to ramp up production and send more vaccines to Montana,” Governor Gianforte wrote in a letter to the president. “Ultimately, Montana is not being rewarded with appropriate dose allocations, despite our efficiencies surrounding vaccine distribution and administration.”

In his letter, Governor Gianforte highlights the tremendous progress Montana continues to make in vaccinating its most vulnerable populations, but he emphasizes that the supply the federal government sends Montana does not meet its demand.

According to recent data from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Montana ranks 45th among states in terms of vaccines allocated, per capita, by the federal government.
