Governor and First Lady Invite Montanans to Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting
HELENA, Mont. – Governor Greg Gianforte and First Lady Susan Gianforte invite Montanans to join them for the lighting of the 2025 State Capitol Christmas tree on Monday.
“We’re excited to welcome Montanans back to the Capitol to kick off the Christmas season,” Gov. Gianforte said. “Susan and I hope families from across the state will join us, enjoy the music, and view this beautiful tree.”

The ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. on Monday, December 1, in the Capitol Rotunda, and will feature a performance by The Carroll College Choirs under the direction of Dr. Michael Gray.
This year’s Capitol Christmas tree was harvested from U.S. Forest Service land as part of a Good Neighbor Authority project near Seeley Lake. Through the Good Neighbor Authority, the State of Montana and the Forest Service partner to actively manage forests, reduce wildfire risk, and improve forest health. The harvest was completed with support from the Forest Service, the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, the Montana Logging Association, and Bull Creek Forestry.
The governor and first lady also encourage Montanans to visit the State Capitol throughout the month of December to see the decorated tree.
