Governor Gianforte Recognizes State Employees with Governor’s Awards for Excellence

Recipients include teams and individual employees across the state for outstanding service to the people of Montana

HELENA, Mont. – Governor Greg Gianforte and Department of Administration Director Misty Ann Giles yesterday recognized state employees who have gone above and beyond in their service to the people of Montana with the Governor’s Awards for Excellence.

“Service is at the core of our Montana values and it’s part of what makes our state the Last Best Place,” Gov. Gianforte said. “When we see state employees providing Montanans with exceptional service, we want to recognize them, and that’s what this award is all about.”

During the 33rd annual Governor's Awards for Excellence, Gov. Gianforte and Director Giles recognized 204 state employees for their accomplishments and dedicated public service and 19 recipients of the Governor’s Outstanding Service Award.

Award recipients ranged from teams with a singular mission to individuals who enhanced the workings of state government and strengthened Montana communities.

Recipients of the Governor’s Awards for Excellence include:

  • The Grizzly Bear Translocation Team at Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (FWP) for their around-the-clock work to successfully translocate two grizzly bears from the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem in Montana to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in Wyoming.
  • The Property Tax Super Team at the Department of Revenue who traveled the state to hold informational meetings for Montanans.
