CONRAD, Mont. – Continuing his 56 County Tour in Pondera County, Governor Greg Gianforte last week visited Frontline Ag Solutions in Conrad and heard from farmers in the area.

“I was glad to get an update from our producers in Montana’s Golden Triangle, home of the production of our world-class grains,” Gov. Gianforte said. “Agriculture remains the bedrock of our economy and communities. We will continue to support the producers that work tirelessly to feed our country and preserve our economic and national security.”

With ten locations across Montana, Frontline Ag Solutions is a regular one-stop-shop for many of Montana’s producers.

As an authorized John Deere dealer, Frontline sells new and used equipment and offers repair services to customers for all agronomic needs. In addition, the company is contracted with industry professionals to offer consulting on services such as crop monitoring and soil sampling.

Stopping by the shop, the governor met with local farmers to hear from them on the status of their harvests for this year.

The group discussed the importance of diversifying their crop varietals in the Golden Triangle to reduce financial risk and of producing food in the United States to preserve our national security.

To defend America’s and Montana’s economic security, food security, and national security assets, last year the governor prohibited the sale or lease of Montana ag land to foreign adversaries like China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, and Venezuela.

According to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Chinese ownership of farmland in the United States multiplied by 20-fold from 2010 to 2020. In 2010, China owned $81 million in assets of land in the United States, and in 2020, those holdings had increased to $1.8 billion.
