HELENA, Mont. – Today, Governor Greg Gianforte issued the following statement, marking six months since Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on October 7, 2023:

“Six months ago, barbaric Hamas terrorists brutally raided Israel, raping, torturing, and killing innocent Israelis, including children and the elderly, and kidnapping others, including American citizens. To this day, hostages, including American citizens, remain in the blood-soaked hands of Hamas terrorists. Susan and I continue to pray for their release and for strength for Israelis as they eliminate Hamas. Until all the hostages are home, the Israeli flag will remain in front of my office, standing alongside the flags of the United States and Montana. Montana will continue to stand with Israel.”

In the days after the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel, Governor Gianforte ordered all flags flown in the State of Montana to fly at half-staff in memory of the innocent lives lost in Israel at the hands of Hamas terrorists. In solidarity with Israel and Jews throughout the world, he attended a vigil for Israel at the Chabad Lubavitch Center of Jewish Life and Learning in Bozeman.
