Governor Gianforte Celebrates GE Aerospace $2 Million Investment in Butte

HELENA, Mont. – Governor Greg Gianforte today celebrated a recent $2 million investment from GE Aerospace at its joint venture site in Butte to increase manufacturing capacity of commercial and military aircraft engines.

“I appreciate the continued investment from GE Aerospace to boost American manufacturing, jobs, and products,” Gov. Gianforte said. “In Montana, we’ll continue to unleash innovation and support job creators and manufacturers that fuel our economy and strengthen our workforce.”

GE Aerospace is a global provider of engines, systems, and services. As a leader in aviation technology, the company continues to design, develop, and manufacture jet engines, components and integrated systems for military, commercial and business and general aircraft as well as aero-derivative gas turbines for marine applications.

Montana Precision Products is an aerospace manufacturing company based in Butte and serves as a joint venture between GE Aerospace and SeaCast. The nearly 100,000 square foot facility that produces tube and duct assemblies and small structural castings for aerospace and commercial applications. The joint venture employs over two dozen Montanans.

The recent investment will go toward modernization of the facility’s layout to improve workflow and productivity to support the production of engine components used in narrowbody and widebody aircraft engines, along with military marine engines.

Mike Forrelli, Site Leader for GE Aerospace’s joint venture in Butte said, “This is a great day for our site, Butte and the future of U.S. manufacturing. With this investment, we will continue to play a critical role in producing engine parts that are needed more than ever.”

The Butte investment from GE Aerospace is part of the company’s larger nearly $1 billion in its U.S. factories and supply chain to strengthen manufacturing and increase the use of innovative new parts and materials needed for the future of flight.
