HELENA, Mont. – Governor Greg Gianforte today proclaimed May 1, 2025, as a Day of Prayer in Montana, honoring the annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May.

“On this National Day of Prayer, Susan and I join all Americans in praying for Montana and our great nation,” Governor Gianforte said. “Today and every day, may we remember we are blessed to live in a country where we have the right to worship freely and live out our faith.”

The governor’s proclamation may be viewed here and below.

WHEREAS, Americans are privileged to worship freely without fear of government intrusion, a principle upon which our nation was founded; and

WHEREAS, Americans have lifted prayers up to God throughout our nation’s history to seek guidance, protection, and purpose to the benefit of our state and country; and

WHEREAS, beginning with our Founding Fathers, leaders of the United States have prayed and asked those they serve and represent to join them in prayer; and

WHEREAS, the National Day of Prayer will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, with the theme, “Pour Out to the God of Hope and Be Filled,” based on Roman 15:13; and

WHEREAS, President Truman asked God on the first National Day of Prayer “to grant us wisdom to know the course we should follow and strength and patience to pursue that course steadfastly”;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Greg Gianforte, Governor of the State of Montana, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2025

throughout the great state of Montana
