Governor Gianforte Honors DPHHS Employee for 45 Years of Service

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Governor Greg Gianforte today recognized an employee with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services Child and Family Services Division (CFSD) for his over 45 years of service to Montana communities.  

During a ceremony held at the CFSD office in Bozeman, the governor surprised the recipient, Joe Albro, with a letter recognizing his service to Montana families and a Montana State Flag flown over the state capitol in his honor.  

“At the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, you have been a cornerstone of the Child and Family Services Division, dedicating your career to strengthening families, supporting colleagues, and championing the wellbeing of children across our communities,” Gov. Gianforte read from the letter. “Your legacy of compassion, dedication, and service reflect the very best of public service.”

Joining the state agency in 1981, Albro served in several Montana communities including in Anaconda and Dillion before most recently in Bozeman as a Family Engagement Coordinator. In the letter, the governor shared Joe’s work with the department has led to significant community outreach efforts to strengthen Montana families including strengthening relationships with the Bozeman Health Department and CASA. 

“For over 45 years I have had the privilege to support children and families in their time of need,” said Joe Albro. “I got up every day knowing that I could make a difference in my community. I am so thankful and humbled to be honored with this award, I never expected to be recognized for my work.”  

When he took office, Gov. Gianforte created the Outstanding Service Award to recognize state employees who go above and beyond to support the citizens of Montana, whether with exceptional customer service, strong leadership, or a commitment to excellence. Nominations are open year-round.
