HELENA, Mont. – Governor Greg Gianforte on Monday will commemorate the one-year anniversary since Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.

“In remembrance of the one-year anniversary of the horrific October 7th terrorist attacks, I invite all Montanans to join me in remembering the innocent victims who were brutally murdered or injured during acts of war committed by Hamas and for the seven Americans still held hostage,” Gov. Gianforte said. “The State of Montana continues to stand with Israel and the Jewish people as they continue to face unspeakable persecution, hatred, and terrorism.”

The governor today also ordered flags flown over state buildings and grounds to fly at half-staff from 9 a.m. to sunset on Monday, October 7, 2024, in memory of the innocent lives lost in the barbaric Hamas terrorist attacks against the people and nation of Israel and in remembrance for those who are still held hostage, including American citizens.

On Monday at the Flag Plaza of the State Capitol, the governor at 9 a.m. will participate in the lowering of the flags to half-staff and will raise the Israel flag in solidarity with Israel and Jews throughout the world.
