HELENA, Mont. – Governor Greg Gianforte today announced nominations are open for his inaugural Forest Products Award. This award will recognize an outstanding person or entity for their work to actively manage our forests, responsibly develop our abundant forested resources, and/or promote the use of Montana wood products.

“In keeping with our commitment to actively manage our forests for the benefit of the environment and our economy, I look forward to recognizing an individual or entity that has gone above-and-beyond in promoting better stewardship of our forests through our thriving wood products industry,” Gov. Greg Gianforte said. “My hope is this award will inspire more Montanans to take part in active forest management, whether by supporting a local wood products supplier or considering the wood products industry for a career.”

The governor will present the inaugural award during Montana Forest Products Week, October 17th – 23rd. Nominations are open to any individual, business, or organization that has significantly contributed to active forest management and advanced the utilization of Montana wood products.

Beginning today through October 1, 2021, Montanans may submit a nomination here.
