HELENA, Mont. – To mark the third day of 12 Days of Giving, Governor Greg Gianforte today visited the Great Falls Rescue Mission to provide a devotional and help distribute shoes to guests.

“It was an honor to be at the Great Falls Rescue Mission today to help encourage guests,” Gov. Gianforte said. “The purpose of work is to serve others, and the Great Falls Rescue Mission really embraces that spirit by serving Montanans struggling with homelessness and hunger. If Montanans are able, I encourage them to support the Great Falls Rescue Mission in its work.”

Since 1963, the Great Falls Rescue Mission has served Montanans experiencing hunger and homelessness in North Central Montana. Utilizing several shelter campuses, Great Falls Rescue Mission has 300 beds, and continues to serve over 350 meals a day to guests and the public.

After speaking with guests, the governor helped staff distribute new boots, donated by Fleet Supply, to guests.

Running through mid-December, the governor’s 12 Days of Giving will highlight the work of a dozen organizations serving Montanans in need.

  • On the 1st Day of Giving, the governor established a One Warm Coat drive at the State Capitol to help ensure no Montanan goes cold this winter.
  • On the 2nd Day of Giving, the governor launched a canned food drive competition among state agencies and encouraged Montanans to consider giving to the Montana Food Bank Network or their local food bank.
  • On the 3rd Day of Giving, the governor visited the Great Falls Rescue Mission to help encourage guests and promote the work of the organization to serve Montanans struggling with homelessness and hunger.
