Red Rock Watershed Water Quality Improvement Plan Available for Comment

HELENA—The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking comments on the draft “Red Rock Metals, Sediment, and E.coli TMDLs and Water Quality Improvement Plan,” and will hold a public meeting on Aug. 10, 2021, at 5 p.m. to provide information about the document and answer questions.

The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom, an online teleconferencing platform, and also in person at the University of Montana Western Campus in Dillon, Mont.

What: A hybrid public meeting on the draft water quality improvement plan for the Red Rock Watershed.

When: Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, 5 p.m.

Where: The meeting will be held both online and in person. The document provides total maximum daily loads (TMDLs) to help address water quality problems related to metals, sediment and E.coli levels in 22 stream segments in the Red Rock watershed. The document also includes strategies for reducing pollution levels to meet Montana’s surface water quality standards.
