  • April 08 2026

Governor Gianforte’s Energy Task Force will conclude a series of public open houses with an event in Colstrip on April 15. The open house will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Business Innovation Center (6200 Main Street).

The task force previously hosted open houses in Butte (February 25) and Miles City (March 24).

The open house will offer attendees a chance to talk directly with members of the Energy Task Force to ask questions and give feedback on various energy topics. There will be no formal presentation. Staff from state agencies will be available at tables to discuss their regulatory authority related to energy development.

Governor Gianforte established the Energy Task Force through executive order in September 2025. The Governor charged the task force with providing recommendations and strategies to increase the supply of affordable and reliable energy options for Montana. The bipartisan task force meets regularly and will provide recommendations in written reports to the Governor in September 2026 and January 2027.
