HELENA, Mont. – The Montana Broadband Office (MBO) announced today the portal for Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) applications will open on August 15, 2024.
"Montana's BEAD funding approval has been a long time coming. We are thrilled to get the application process rolling to access this funding so we can provide unserved and underserved areas of Montana with the connectivity they so desperately need," said DOA Director Misty Ann Giles.
Earlier today, Montana Governor Greg Gianforte announced the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) had approved Montana’s proposal, which means the state will receive close to $629 million to create greater connectivity.
Interested parties may submit main-round applications to the MBO ConnectMT portal beginning on August 15, 2024. The portal will remain open to applications for 60 days. Applications will not be accepted after October 15, 2024.
The application and additional resources can be viewed at ConnectMT.mt.gov.
