ConnectMT Extends Broadband Funding Application Deadline
Helena, Mont. – Today, the ConnectMT Program announced an application deadline extension for funding to provide broadband service to areas in need throughout the state.
The deadline has been extended to 12 pm MDT on April 29, 2022, due to significant demand for broadband funding, customer service needs for this inaugural program, and industry constraints during this time period. This extension is intended to allow applicants more time to collect the necessary documentation to meet the requirements for submitting a complete application.
The Connect MT Program also intends to hold additional technical assistance workshops in April to cover topics such as the challenge process, allocation agreements, permitting, and servicing requirements for awardees.
Continue to monitor the ConnectMT website, connectmt.mt.gov, for further information and future announcements regarding the workshops.
The ConnectMT Program was developed as a result of Senate Bill 297 and House Bill 632 in Montana’s 67th legislative session and is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act which was passed by U.S. Congress in 2021. Up to $266 million will be awarded to deliver new high-speed terrestrial based broadband service for underserved, unserved, and frontier locations throughout Montana.
