The Montana Office of Public Instruction Announces Applications for

21st Century Community Learning Center Grants to Open Next Week

HELENA— The Office of Public Instruction announced today that applications for 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) Grants will open next Wednesday, March 20th. Under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the OPI receives funding which is sub-granted to local communities through a competitive process to run academic programs before school, after school, and during summer months.

These programs serve participating students in targeted schools in the areas of academic support, enrichment activities such as music and art, health and wellness, technology and career development, and social skill development while engaging families in this learning process.

There is a webinar recording, Request for Application (RFA) Instructional Guidelines FY 2020, on the OPI’s 21st CCLC website, http://opi.mt.gov/Leadership/Academic-Success/After-School-Programs to provide participants with information regarding the application process. Any non-profit, public or private school district, or faith-based organization are encouraged to view the webinar. Due to changes in federal reporting requirements, limited funding, and growing interest in these programs, it is anticipated that the selection process will be very competitive this year.

For up to date information regarding this application process, and to access important grant guidance documents, please visit http://opi.mt.gov/Leadership/Academic-Success/After-School-Programs

Questions regarding this grant-funded program must be sent to:  OPI21stCCLCAppFAQ@mt.gov. Any questions submitted will be compiled and posted on the OPI’s 21st CCLC website.
