The Legislative Audit Committee (LAC) meets Wednesday, February 6, 2019, in room 335 of the state Capitol at 4:00 p.m. The Legislative Audit Committee ensures accountability for the disposition and use of public funds, and the efficient and effective management of state government programs. The committee meets regularly to review Independent Audit Reports, interact with audited agencies, and advise and consult with the Legislative Auditor and the staff of the Legislative Audit Division.
Financial reports scheduled for review in February include: State of Montana (17-01B), Public Employees’ Retirement Board (18-08A), Teachers’ Retirement Board (18-09A), and the Montana Board of Investments (18-04A).
There will also be focus on a performance follow-up audit titled State Employee Health Clinic Contract Management and Oversight (19SP-05).
Senate Members of the LAC are Dee Brown, R-Hungry Horse; Terry Gauthier, R-Helena; Bob Keenan, R-Bigfork; Margaret MacDonald, D-Billings; Mary McNally (Chair), D-Billings; and Gene Vuckovich, D-Anaconda. House members are Kim Abbott, D-Helena; Dan Bartel, R-Lewistown; Matt Regier, R-Columbia Falls; Tom Burnett, R-Bozeman; Emma Kerr-Carpenter, D-Billings; and Denise Hayman, D-Bozeman.
