Governor Bullock Statement on the Passing of Montana Soldier Nathan Irish

Governor Steve Bullock today released the following statement in honor of U.S. Army Sgt. Nathan Irish of Billings, who died on Oct. 27 in Taji, Iraq from injuries sustained in a non-combat related incident.

Sgt. Irish was assigned to the 25th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team based at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

“Lisa and I are heartbroken over the loss of Sgt. Nathan Irish. As a state and nation, we ask our brave soldiers and their families to sacrifice so much to keep our nation and communities safe. We send our condolences to Sgt. Irish’s loved ones during this difficult time.”
