Governor Steve Bullock this week is hosting the final of three regional leadership workshops on his National Governors Association chair’s initiative, Good Jobs for All Americans, that will offer a comprehensive approach to guide the nation’s governors in creating good jobs and pathways to prosperity.

“It’s great to join another rural state and share our experience in Montana with bringing state leaders, industry and education partners together to explore successful solutions to reinvigorating our rural communities,” said Governor Bullock. “No American should have to leave their school, church or community to find opportunity – and preserving that opportunity is not only important to our rural areas, but to the success of our nation as a whole.”

The third regional leadership workshop is being held today and tomorrow in Des Moines, Iowa with Governor Bullock, NGA’s Vice Chair Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, and state teams representing over a dozen states across the country.

The workshop includes a focus on strategies states can engage in to empower rural communities and make available opportunities in rural communities that have been left behind. Governor Bullock will also be sharing Montana’s successes with workforce development and participating in an armchair chat with Governors Hogan and Reynolds on how the Good Jobs for All Americans initiative can provide new resources and tools for governors.

The first regional workshop in Pennsylvania in September focused on the future of work and adapting to automation in workplaces. The second in Las Vegas in December focused on connecting displaced, mid-career workers to cutting-edge training programs and new skills development.

On May 21-22, Governor Bullock will welcome state teams and experts to the Good Jobs for All Americans Solutions Summit in Whitefish, Montana to share specific actions governors can take to forge pathways for current, future, and underemployed workers.
