HELENA – The Montana Department of Environmental Quality is seeking public comment on the Revised Plant Site Remedy Evaluation Report regarding waste water facilities at the Colstrip Steam Electric Station. This report is required under the Administrative Order on Consent (AOC) between DEQ and Talen Montana, LLC at Colstrip, which provides a mandatory procedure for investigation and remediation related to the waste water facilities.

The revised Remedy Evaluation Report is the third version of the Remedy Evaluation Report required by the AOC, which summarizes feasible remedial alternatives and identifies a preferred remedy. DEQ has provided conditional preliminary approval of this report to Talen; final approval may be provided after any public comments have been addressed.

Copies of the reports are available at DEQ’s office at 1225 Cedar Street in Helena, Talen Montana’s office at 303 N. Broadway, Suite 400 in Billings, and the Bicentennial Library, 419 Willow Ave. in Colstrip. The reports are also available electronically at:
