Visitation at Montana State Prison cancelled due to influenza

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 18, 2017

CONTACT: Sandy Jacke, 444-3911

Visitation at Montana State Prison is immediately cancelled until further notice.  This restriction is due to the presence of influenza viruses at the facility and has been put in place to minimize exposure to the public.

Influenza is spread from person to person through direct contact with respiratory droplets, through contact with contaminated surfaces, or through small particles suspended in the air.  Even people with a mild case of influenza can transmit the infection to others.

Staff at Montana State Prison will advise the public when regular visiting will resume.  For an update on the status of visitation, please call the prison’s visitation hotline at 888-739-9122 on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.
