The Economic Affairs Interim Committee of the Montana Legislature will meet April 26 on issues ranging from liquor law changes to studies on unemployment and emergency care. On April 27 the members will convene as a subcommittee to hear options for restructuring Montana’s workers’ compensation system. Both meetings will be in Room 137 of the state Capitol.

In the Economic Affairs Interim Committee’s Feb. 7-8 meeting the focus will be on meat processing plants, workforce development on reservations, and the future of Montana State Fund as the state’s guaranteed provider of workers’ compensation.

Along with undertaking standard agency reviews of three state agencies at its Nov. 7, 2017, meeting, the Economic Affairs Interim Committee (EAIC) will begin work on two of its three assigned studies. The EAIC will devote a full day on Nov. 8 to the third study, which is on workers’ compensation. The meetings will be in Room 137 of the state Capitol building in Helena.
