The State-Tribal Relations Committee takes on several weighty issues at its March 29-30 meeting in Helena, including substance abuse, missing persons, and improving Indian student achievement and outcomes for tribal members on parole and probation. The committee meeting begins at 8:15 a.m. on March 29 in room 152 of the Capitol in Helena.

The Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE) and the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation announce the creation of iGraduate Montana in partnership with the Office of Public Instruction (OPI) and the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (MTDLI).  

The Education Interim Committee will hold its second meeting on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, in Room 137 of the state Capitol building in Helena. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m.

HELENA – Governor Steve Bullock today released the following statement regarding the release of the 2015 Montana Graduation and Dropout Report by Superintendent Denise Juneau:

 

“Montana’s graduation rates are at record levels and the future is bright for our students, our state, and our economy. Putting more students on a path to success will better prepare Montanans for the jobs of tomorrow and is a critical step in addressing Montana’s future workforce needs.

The Education and Local Government Interim Committee will take on three legislative studies, hear updates on reauthorization of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act, the Office of Public Instruction’s rulemaking and statewide assessment activities, and the Montana University System’s Research Initiative and financial literacy efforts, among other topics on its September agenda.
