The Montana Department of Revenue announces the winners of today’s public lottery to apply for the 14 available liquor licenses to operate alcohol establishments in nine communities throughout the state. These are the winners of the lottery for each area and liquor license type.

The Montana Department of Revenue is publishing the names of thousands of people who have money or other unclaimed property that the state has been holding for them.

The Montana Department of Revenue reminds nonprofit organizations and other tax exempt property owners that March 1, 2016, is the deadline to reapply for property tax exemption. A new state law requires all owners of tax exempt real property in exempt status before 2014 to submit an application.

This week, the Montana Department of Revenue began mailing over 12,000 forms to owners of irrigated land. Montana law allows owners to deduct electrical and fuel costs in the calculation of value for irrigated land for the purpose of determining property taxes.

The Montana Department of Revenue is mailing livestock reporting forms this week to Montanans who own livestock and need to meet upcoming reporting and payment deadlines. All livestock owners need to report by March 1, 2016, any livestock they own as of February 1. Livestock per capita fees are due May 31 instead of November 30 to decrease the time between reporting and payment. Livestock owners are now able to report and pay online at the same time and track their reporting history.

HELENA, MT – Governor Steve Bullock today joined Montana entrepreneurs Sarah Calhoun and Scott Brown to launch of the Montana Business Navigator, a new online service that guides prospective business owners and entrepreneurs through a streamlined process of identifying the necessary registrations, licenses, and permits needed to start a business in Montana.
