A subcommittee studying transparency in health care pricing will examine the factors involved in pricing and reimbursement of health care services when it meets Jan. 17 in Helena.
The House Joint Resolution 20 Subcommittee also will look at alternative ways of providing or billing for services.
The subcommittee is made up of legislators and members of the public and will make recommendations later this year to the Children, Families, Health, and Human Services Interim Committee.
At this month's meeting, subcommittee members will hear from speakers representing hospitals, health insurers, and the Montana Healthcare Foundation, as well as the former Montana Medicaid director and a national health care consultant who has worked with federally qualified health centers.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Room 102 of the Capitol in Helena. It will be streamed live on the legislative website, www.leg.mt.gov. For more information about the meeting, including a full agenda, visit the committee's website or contact Sue O'Connell, committee staff.
