Oil Company's Clean Air Act Violations Resolved

Thursday, June 16, 2016/Categories: Department of Environmental Quality/Tags:

Helena---The Montana Department of Environmental Quality announced Rim Operating, Inc. has resolved violations of the Clean Air Act of Montana that occurred at various well facilities in Sheridan and Richland Counties.

The company failed to submit changes in registration information and adequately control volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions at their facilities.

According to DEQ, failure to properly register emitting units and failing to install appropriate emissions control equipment can cause harm to the environment.

Rim corrected the registration and VOC violations promptly and paid a $36,300 penalty for the violations.
