The Montana Land Information Advisory Council will hold a public meeting on Thursday, April 20, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in West Yellowstone.
Agenda items include, but are not limited to:
- presentation of the FY2018 MLIA Grants, with recommendations and prioritization;
- review of available grant funds.
The Montana Land Information Advisory Council (MLIAC) advises the State Librarian and the State Library Commission on issues related to land information, including data layers to be developed; the development and management of the Montana Land Information Act grant process; and the distribution of funds collected in the Montana Land Information Account.
MLIAC assists the State Library with identification, evaluation, and prioritization of requests received from state agencies, local governments, and Indian tribal government entities to provide development and maintenance of services relating to the GIS and land information.
The Council promotes coordination of programs, policies, technologies, and resources to maximize opportunities, to minimize duplication of effort, and to facilitate the documentation, distribution, and exchange of land information. The council also advocates for the development of consistent policies, standards, and guidelines for land information.
